State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder emphasised upon the teamwork in the endeavour of lifting the standard of Bangladesh sports and termed the media as the most important part of the team.
In a view exchange programme with the editors of the print and electronic media houses at the National Sports Council yesterday, the minister urged the sports editors to work together for the betterment of the sports arena.
“I may say sorry to host the meeting after about seven months of taking responsibility, but there were a lot of sports events and it was a busy schedule. Today (yesterday) I want to hear from you, I am not here to tell anything,” said Biren.
The minister said teamwork is the keyword in the sports field and media has always been the most associated part. “The media scrutinise the events actively, it lights the success and points out the failures, the constructive criticisms are always helpful,” he added.
Sports editors of almost all renowned print and electronic media were present in the programme and shared their views. Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, sports secretary Nur Mohammed and National Sports Council secretary Shibnath Roy were also present on the occasion.
