A woman has been arrested with five fake idols at Bankhur village under Joypurhat sadar upazila.
The arrestee is Firoza alias Farida Begum, daughter of Yasin of Hinda Kasba village of the district.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested her with the fake idols on Tuesday afternoon.
Joypurhat DB police Sub-Inspector Qaiyum Ali said: “Acting on a tip-off, DB police arrested Firoza with five golden colour idols.”
“She has confessed that the idols were brought from India,” he said.
The official said a case will be lodged against Firoza in this connection.
