The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday served separate notices to the ministries of liberation war affairs and public administration seeking cancellation of freedom fighter certificates and departmental action against five secretaries and a joint secretary.
The anti-graft body made the recommendation on finding out that these six government high officials allegedly obtained forged freedom fighter certificates prior to their retirement, but had not claimed to be freedom fighters at the time of appointment.
ACC Deputy Director Julfikar Ali, who investigated the cases, submitted the probe report to the commission on August 28.
