Sunnydale and Viqarunnisa Noon School and College moved into the final of the girls’ section in the Polar Ice-Cream 22nd School Handball Tournament after winning their respective semifinal matches at the M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium yesterday.
Sunnydale defeated Dhanmondi Tutorial 6-3 in the day’s first semifinal with Fatema netting 10 goals while Viqarunnisa registered a comfortable 13-3 victory over Scholastica in the second semifinal.
Meanwhile in the third-place deciding match in the boys’ section, Dhaka Residential Model School and College thrashed Play-Pen School 12-6.
St. Gregory’s High School and Dhanmondi Tutorial earlier reached the final of the men’s section. The final will be held today at 3pm while the girls’ final will begin at 12pm.
