A police constable has been killed and seven others, including the officer-in-charge of Gorai highway police station, have been injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Mirzapur upazila under Tangail district.
The decease is Ruhul Amin, 32, a constable of Gorai Highway police station.
Kamruzzaman Raz of Alenga Highway police post said: “A passenger bus hit the pickup van, carrying police personals, from opposite direction at Kurni area of the upazila at 2pm, leaving Ruhul dead on the spot and seven others injuring.”
“The injured were rushed to Mirzapur Kumudini Medical College Hospital. Later, two of the injured were sent to Dhaka as their condition deteriorated.”
