Rapid Action Battalion personnel have arrested a person with 115 gold bars at Shah Amanat International Airport on Sunday.
Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin, commanding officer of RAB 7 told Dhaka Tribune that acting on a tip-off RAB personnel found the bars from luggage of Belal, 26, a passenger of Oman flight from Dubai around 6:30pm.
The seized bars weigh around 13.515kg and have the estimated value of Tk6.5 crore, according to the RAB official.
Belal, a resident of Chakoria upazila of Cox's Bazar could manage to hide the haulage in the airport scrutiny and caught by RAB officials outside the airport.
