A man and his daughter have been killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a pickup van at Baraigram upazila of the district.
Mother of the girl was critically injured in the accident.
The deceased were identified as Mehedi Hassan, 34, assistant teacher of Bhawanipur Hifjul Quran Dakhil Madrasha; and his daughter Urmi, 8, class II student of St Joseph School.
Injured Swapna Begum, 28, has been admitted into Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Fuwad Ruhani, officer-in-charge of Banpara highway police station said Mehedi Hassan was returning home from Iswardi of Pabna with his wife and daughter on his motorcycle around 8:30pm on Saturday.
The motorcycle collided with a Pabna-bound pickup van at Rajapur area, leaving Urmi dead on the spot and her parents injured.
Locals rushed the injured at a local clinic. Later they were shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where Mehedi died while undergoing treatment.
