After a 4-year wait, VH finally emerged as the champions of ‘Vertical Horizon Underground Basketball Championship’ beating Gregorian Aces by 72-69 points in a naibiting final at the Dhanmondi Basketball gymnasium on Friday.
As expected, the intense final kept the crowd on their feet till the conclusion of the game. Displaying great tenacity, VH played as an unit and turned the ball around to take the lead in the final minute causing great heartbreak for the Gregorian Aces. It was a case of so-near-yet-so-far for the former champions.
In the semis, Gregorian Aces defeated Josephites 82-72 while VH ousted GYC 72-69 in another close finish.
