From now on the Ministry of Communication will be known as the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, as the government decided to change its name.
A proposal from the Cabinet Division to change the name of the ministry was approved by the president and the prime minister yesterday.
Confirming the change, Cabinet Secretary Muhammad Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told reporters that the Cabinet Division would issue a gazette notification today after the completion of all due procedures.
