Amid speculation that Sarika might have called off her career after her marriage to businessman Mahim Karim, the model-turned-actor has revealed that she is actually planning to make a comeback post Eid-ul-Azha.
While talking to Dhaka Tribune, the actor, who stayed in relative obscurity with a break from acting spanning nearly two years, said she is “determined” to revive her career. “I am determined to come back. I’ve got several TV scripts at hand. I am reading them new. If any of these attracts me, my fans will hopefully see me back on air after Eid.”
Sarika hasn’t been in the news for a quite a while now, and the few times she made headlines were all for the wrong reasons, including her alleged drug addiction and problems in personal life.
“Before my marriage, there were many rumours and now all that have proved false. I am grateful to the Almighty that I’ve found someone in my life who really understands me. I seek everyone’s blessings that we can be happy together.”
Sarika further said she plans to be regular in acting but will be selective while choosing roles and will work only with high-profile television directors. “But my first priority is my family, and everything else comes next.”
Asked about her interest expressed about two years ago in acting in a film, she said, “I have no such plan as of now. If the overall condition of the film industry improves a bit, then maybe I will think about it again.”
