Arms, ammo recovered in Habiganj again

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel have found arms and ammunitions from the bordering Satchhari forest of Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj.

RAB Media Wing Commander Mufti Mahmud in a press conference said: “Acting on a tip off, the RAB personnel conducted a drive in the forest and recovered nine SMGs, one SMC, one meta gun, one sniper telescope sight, two LMGs, six SLRs, six auto rifles and 2,400 rounds of ammos.”

He said: “So far the RAB personnel have recovered 11,000 arms and around 100,000 rounds of ammunitions.”

Major Rumman Mahmud, deputy director of RAB (media wing), said the drive to recover the arms and ammunitions would continue.

Earlier on June 3, some 222 pieces of 40m rocket shells, 248 rocket launcher charges and other warheads were recovered from Satchhari forest.

In another drive, the RAB personnel recovered recovered 633 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets, 54 rounds of 12.54 mm bullets, 37-inch long barrel of a machinegun from the forest on June 9.
