Hundreds of workers of a readymade garment (RMG) factory have blocked the road at Bandartila area in Chittagong city, demanding outstanding salaries and dues.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Kajol Babu of EPZ police station said: “Some 400 workers of Siraj and Sons garments took to the street at Bahadurshah Colony of Bandartila at 4:30pm, demanding their dues.”
“Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and removed the blockade from the road by dispersing the agitating workers around 5pm.”
Police and local administration were holding a negotiation meeting with the owner till filing of the report at 7pm.
