Shuttle train service in Chittagong University has been cancelled for Sunday after the hartal supporters threatened to carry out vandalism.
Station master of Sholosahar rail station Shahabuddin said the hartal supporters locked his room in the morning and asked him to cancel the schedules of all trains.
All the shuttle trains were cancelled for the day for security reason, he added.
The half day hartal, jointly called by Islami Chhatra Sena and Bangladesh Islami Front protesting the killing of their Ahle Sunnat leader Shaikh Nurul Islam Faruqi is underway peacefully across the country.
The hartal began at 6am and will be ended at 2pm.
