UP members demand chairman's withdrawal in Gazipur

Members of Telihati union parishad in Shreepur upazila of Gazipur have demanded the withdrawal of the acting chairman of the union accusing him for corruption.  

Eight members of Telihati union parishad made the demand in a press conference at the union parishad conference room on Saturday morning.

During the press conference, UP member Fazlul Haque said acting chairman Afsar Uddin has been involved in irregularity, corruption, nepotism and embezzlement of money from government projects.

Meanwhile,  Afsar Uddin claimed that all the allegations brought against him are false, baseless and fabricated when the reported asked him about the complaints.

"A vested quarter is spreading propaganda against me in a bid to tarnish my reputation," he said.
