Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has expelled the general secretary of its Rajshahi University (RU) unit, SM Touhid Al Hossain Tuhin, for his alleged anti-party activities.
Khaled Hasan Biplob, joint secretary of the executive committee and also an MBA student of the university had been made acting general secretary of the unit, BCL central committee office secretary Sheikh Rasel confirmed on Friday.
However, he did not mention about any specific incident or event for which Tuhin has been expelled.
On Thursday noon, Tuhin along with another BCL RU leader Tonmoy Ananda Ovi beat up the university's acting chief engineer Sirajum Munir for refusing to give in to their extortion demand of Tk one lakh.
However, no action was taken against Ovi.
