Update : 29 Aug 2014, 12:36 PM

Two Bangladeshi workers have died after falling from an under construction building on King Faisal Road of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, reported gulfnews.

However, the report could not provide specific identification of the deceased.

According to the report, a 40-year-old worker identified as MHA died on the spot and paramedics transferred his body to Kuwaiti Hospital and then to the forensic laboratory.

On the other hand, the second worker later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Al Qassimi Hospital, it added.

The accident reportedly took place on Wednesday morning around 9:30am.

Later, a case was filed with Al Buhairah police station for further investigation.

After receiving the news of the incident, the police have urged the construction companies to “ensure that all safety measures are in place at their work-sites in order to avoid similar accidents.”

While contacted, First secretary of Bangladesh Embassy in UAE Mizanur Rahman told the Dhaka Tribune that he came to know about the incident from local media, however he was not sure about it.

He said: 'I tried to contact the UAE police several times for accurate information, but failed to get any confirmed information as the offices remain closed on weekends.”
