Customs intelligence this morning arrested one person along with 72 gold bars weighing 8.4kg of gold worth about Tk4.2 crore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.
"We have arrested one Mohammad Azim Uddin, 45, from green channel area of the airport and seized 72 gold bars weighing 8.4kg concealed in his body around 10:40am," Umme Nahida, assistant director of airport customs intelligence said.
She said the cost of the seized gold is Tk4.2 crore, reports BSS.
Azim, son of Chenu Mia of Feni district, arrived at Shahjalal airport from Dubai by a flight of Dubai Airlines.
