Police have submitted charge sheet in verdict leak of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury’s war crimes case to Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court.
The accused are Salauddin Quader's wife Farhat Quader Chowdhury, son Humam Quader Chowdhury, his lawyer Barrister AKM Fakhrul Islam, Nayan Ali, Faruk Hossain, Advocate Mehedi Hasan and Mahbubul Ahsan.
Detective Branch (DB) police Inspector and also the Investigation Officer of the case, Mohammad Shahjahan submitted the charge sheet on Thursday afternoon, General Recording Officer of the CMM court Mahmudur Rahman said.
He said: “The charge sheet has been sent to Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sabirina Ali for cognisance. Arrest warrant will be issued against the absconding accused after taking the charge sheet into cognisance.”
Out of the accused, Salauddin Quader’s wife, son and Mehedi Hassan are at large while the four others are in jail.
On October 2 last year, the International Crimes Tribunal filed a general diary with Shahbagh police station over the leak. Tribunal Registrar AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud made the announcement at a press briefing that day.
