Police have rescued a child from Kashempur area of Gazipur district 13 hours after his abduction.
The victim is Parvez, 7, son of Italy expatiate Shahidullah of Kashempur area and a student of class I at Abul Majon Pre-Cadet School.
Kidnappers abducted Parvez from his school around 9am and demanded a ransom of Tk2 lakh from his mother through a phone call.
Joydebpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Hafizur Rahman said: “Victim's paternal uncle Abdul Kuddus filed a case with the police station in the evening regarding the matter.”
Later, police rescued him from near a bKash shop at Shataish Kha Para in Tongi around 11pm.
The SI said the kidnappers were waiting for the ransom money in front of the office. They fled the scene sensing the presence of the police.
