Update : 26 Aug 2014, 08:57 AM

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has offered a joint training to Border Guard Bangladesh.

BGB Director General Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed made the disclosure in a press conference at BGB headquarter in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

The BGB chief said Bangladesh has agreed to take part in the training.

The BSF gave the offer during the five-day conference between the border forces of the two neighbouring countries held in New Delhi. A 20-member delegation of Bangladesh attended the conference led by BGB DG Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed.

"The joint training will focus on bomb disposal, dog handling and border management in officer and soldier levels," Aziz Ahmed said.

He further said the two countries discussed various issues including border killing, smuggling and border crimes.

He said: "About India's claim that there are insurgent camps in Bangladesh's territory, Bangladesh has informed that the country did not find existence of any such camps in Bangladesh's soil."

Aziz said India has given another list of 71 insurgent camps in Bangladesh during the conference. "We will check the list and take necessary steps."

The next conference will be held on the 3rd week of December in Dhaka.
