Hajj flight begins Aug 27

The first hajj flight will leave Dhaka on August 27 with 419 pilgrims for Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

A press release issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines made the disclosure on Monday.

The flight will carry 49,378 pilgrims out of 98,757 from August 27 to September 28 with 270 flights including 224 dedicated flights and 46 scheduled flights.

The national flag carrier has decided to ferry pilgrims with its four flights including a scheduled one on the first day.

Biman has fixed its fare at US$1,500 for each pilgrim from Dhaka-Jeddah-Dhaka for economy class, while US$2,500 for business class.

The return hajj flights will begin on October 8 and continue till November 8.
