2 killed, 30 injured in Jamalpur clash

Two people have been killed and at least 30 injured in a clash between inhabitants of two villages in Melandoho upazila of Jamalpur on Sunday.

The deceased are Muraduzzaman, 50 and Harun-or-Rashid, 40.

Sources said a long standing dispute was going on between the villagers of Tupkar Char and Shahjadpur village over the construction of a road.

The villagers engaged in clashes with locally made weapons over the road construction, leaving Muraduzzaman (50) and Harun-ur-Rashid (40) died on the spot and 30 others injured.

On information, Jamalpur police super Nazrul Islam rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.

Nazrul told the Dhaka Tribune that legal action will be taken regarding the matter.
