At least two people have been killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a pickup van on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Tangail on Sunday morning.
The deceased are Abdul Malek, 30, son of Abdul Motaleb of Bawshi village and Md Lutfar Rahman of Sheerpur.
Gorai highway police station Officer-in-Charge Jubaidul Alam said: “A Jamalpur-bound fish-laden pickup van collided with a passenger bus of Ovi Poribohan at Asimtola area under Mirzapur upazila around 9am, killing Malek on the spot and injuring the others.”
He said: “Lutfur died after being admitted to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.”
