US Ambassador to Bangladesh Dan W Mozena has expressed his satisfaction over the quality of healthcare services in Bangladesh.

The US envoy was visiting Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Friday morning.

Replying to the queries of journalists, he said: “Bangladesh has achieved remarkable development in the healthcare sector while USA has a credit behind the development.”

“The rate of child deaths and maternal deaths has gradually been reduced in Bangladesh due to the sharing in the healthcare sector with USA,” he said.

The US ambassador arrived at CMCH around 9:45am where he inspected the Child Surgery Ward for an hour and talked to the patients of the hospital about healthcare.

Expressing his satisfaction, he said the physicians of the country’s second biggest hospital are giving treatment to the patients cordially while CMCH also provides modern technology-based special treatment to the patients which are rare in other hospitals.

“The Bangladeshi physicians are acquiring more knowledge about upgraded technologies in the health sector by visiting hospitals in USA and they can serve the patients with their acquired knowledge,” he said.

He further said: “USA will assist Bangladesh in the health sector in future."
