A man was killed and two others were injured when an express train rammed a truck in City Gate area in Chittagong city yesterday morning.
The deceased was Md Sajib, 25, helper of the truck and son of Shamsuddin, of Manurabad area of Halishahar in the city, police sources said.
The injured – Md Jalal, truck driver, and Md Mozammel – were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Sub-Inspector (SI) Wahidul Haque of Government Railway Police at Chittagong railway station police outpost said the Chittagong- bound Nasirabad Express train coming from Mymensingh hit the truck carrying the trio while it was crossing the rail line in the area at 6:30 am.
The truck skidded off several yards after being hit by the train, leaving Sajib dead on the spot, he said, adding that the body was handed over to the family members after autopsy.
