For the first time ever, MTV invited a Bangladeshi musician in the grooming session of the show MTV World Stage which was held in Malaysia this year.
Aftabuzzaman Tridib, vocalist of the band Mechanix participated in the programme and learned the process of taking part in one of the most prestigious music event in the world.
Tridib shared his experience with Dhaka Tribune: “We were taught the process of how a band should prepare themselves for the international platform. We worked with a talented team who are specialists on processor’s tune to band’s outlook to stage act. We learned the sound engineering and above all, the overall designing of a show for a big event like MTV World Stage. Most fun part of the trip was when I was interviewed by MTV Asia’s VJ Alan and Henli.”
“Now the real journey has started for Mechanix. We have to prove ourselves on a bigger stage and only then this journey will be successful,” he added.
Mechanix got international recognition after their 2012 single “Enemy Within” followed by a music video of the song. International music platforms like Vevo and Yahoo! Music expressed their interest to work as platform for the band. Vevo already created a channel on Youtube named MechanixVevo.
Creinse Limited, a brand innovation, music and entertainment company in Bangladesh which brought the MTV Programme Platform in Bangladesh, confirmed that next year another band or artist from Bangladesh will once again be selected for the grooming session.
MTV Asia has been staging the show in Malaysia every year from 2009.
