A local Awami League leader of Sutrapur police station in the capital has been shot by miscreants in front of his house on Tuesday night.
The victim is Md Shaheed, Awami League general secretary of Sutrapur unit, said OC Khalilur Rahman Patwari of Sutrapur police station.
The AL leader came under attack at 10:30pm when he was returning home on his motorcycle.
Some three to four unidentified men riding on motorcycles shot him and left the spot, said the police official.
Shaheed was rushed to Mitford Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
