A bakery worker was killed and seven others were wounded in an oven explosion at Kushighat area in Sylhet on Tuesday night.
The deceased is Ismail Khan, 20, son of late Iskandar Khan of Deol village in Habiganj and a worker of Pushti Bakery.
Bakery Manager Jabel Karim Chowdhury said: “Ismail had turned on the gas from before and when he switched on the oven around 8pm, it exploded.”
“He died on the spot and while seven others were injured in the explosion, The injured have been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital,” he said.
The manager said: “On information, a team of police from Shahparan police station visited the spot.”
