A female worker of a ready-made garment (RMG) factory has been stabbed to death by unknown miscreants in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) area early Monday.
The deceased, Monjila Akhter, 35, daughter of Fazlul Haq, of Pirozpur district, was a machine operator of a factory of Youngone Company in CEPZ, said police sources.
Police suspected that Monjila might have been killed over previous enmity
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Mansur of EPZ police station said: “Some miscreants stabbed Monjila in front of TPB Building at CEPZ area on Sunday around 10pm when she was returning home.”
He said: “She was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries around 5am.”
None have been arrested in this connection till filing of this report at 6pm.
A case was lodged with EPZ police station in this regard, added the OC.
