A child was killed by a speeding local vehicle on Saturday in Gopalganj’s Sadar Upazilla.
Rubel, 11, was hit by "a Bhotbhoti", a local vehicle, when he was standing on a bailey bridge on Mandartola-Borni road. Caught between the vehicle and the bridge rail, his head was cut off from the body and fell into the river.
The ‘Bhotbhoti’ driver Rasel Molla escaped the scene discarding the vehicle. Villagers demanded quick arrest and exemplary punishment of Rasel.
