Former Army staff's wife goes missing

The wife of a former staff of Bangladesh Army has gone missing from Chittagong city since Thursday noon after withdrawing money from bank.

The victim has been identified as Amibia Parul, 40, in a general diary filed by the husband with the Panchlaish Police Station.

The husband, Fakhrul Islam, who is a retired Lance Corporal (5 EBR) of Bangladesh Army, lodged the diary on Thursday. He also informed the matter to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7).

On Thursday, Parul, owner of a tailoring shop at city’s Hamjarbag area, went to Teribazar area for withdrawing money and later went to GEC Intersection area, said the victim’s husband.

Parul's mobile phone was found switched off since her disappearance, Fakhrul added.

Police have been investigating whether it was a missing or abduction, Mohiuddin Mahmud, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchlaish Police Station said.

“We are trying to recover Parul,” he added.
