Nasim: No ban on BNP’s issue-based movement

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said the government would not bar the BNP from holding any issue-based movement.

The minister made the remark while addressing a press meet at DRU auditorium in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

Nasim told the journalists: “The government will obstruct those, who try to violate the law and order situation in the country in the name of movement. But, we will not bar the BNP from holding any issue-based programme.”

Regarding the issue of a possibility for a midterm poll, Nasim, also Awami League Presidium Member said: “There is no possibility of holding a midterm election. The election will be held on the scheduled time in 2019 and I believe that Khaleda will not repeat her mistakes again.”

Talking about the Health Ministry, the minister told the reporters: “The foremost challenge for the ministry is to grip all the newly recruited doctors in their given posts.”

He mentioned that the ministry is forming a monitoring cell to supervise the doctors.

Nasim also remarked that the Health Ministry will send medicines within a few days to the Ebola affected area in Sierra Leone.

The programme was organised by Dhaka Reporters Unit (DRU), presided over by Sahed Chowdhury, president of DRU.
