Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested seven suspected members, including the ringleader of a carjacker gang, from different parts of the capital and Sylhet district.
Of the arrestees, one was identified as Abdul Alim, the ringleader of the gang.
Assistant Director of RAB Legal and Media Wing Captain Maksudul Alam said on secret information, RAB members conducted separate drives and arrested seven members of the carjacker syndicate.
“The RAB members have also seized seven stolen vehicles and a motorcycle.”
A press conference is set to be held later in the day at RAB headquarters to brief the media about the incident.
