Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority yesterday prohibited the plying of below 65-foot launches and trawlers on all internal and long distance routes in Bhola district due to stormy weather.
The affected routes are Bhola - Barisal, Borahan Uddin - Barisal, Lalmohan - Kalaia, Charfashion – Monpura, Charkacchapia - Dhalchar, Charkochopia - Kukrimukri, Charmothahar, Charmonohor, Char Leiolin.
BIWTA issued the order around 11am and it will remain in effect until further notice. A BIWTA officer, Md Nasim, confirmed the announcement.
