Passengers have been suffering a lot as one of the two sea-trucks on the Bhola-Lakshmipur route remain inoperative for last six days because of mechanical faults.
Master of the damaged sea-truck Khijir 7 Nazrul Islam said the vessel syddenly broke down on July 3, adding that it would take time to repair the vessel.
As a result of the situation, the other sea-truck had been carrying additional passengers which is very risky and other passengers were taking their lives at risk using eingine-run boats to cross the Meghna river, defying a government ban to cross the danger zone in the Meghna. Some other passengers were using ferry services on this route.
Several passengers said no special service was provided on the Bhola-Lakshmipur water route and as a result the passengers were suffering a lot.
