A tourist has gone missing while swimming in Piyain river at Jaflong in Sylhet on Saturday.
The missing tourist is Jasim Uddin, 24, an electrician hailed from Narayanganj district.
Jasim went missing while he was swimming with his family members near zero point of the Piyain river on Saturday evening amid administrative ban on swimming in the river, Ruhul Amin, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Goainghat police station told the Dhaka Tribune.
He might be drowned, the OC said.
A search operation was initiated to find Jasim, he added.
Earlier on July 31, three tourists were killed as a boat capsized in Piyain river.
The district administration issued a warning note disallowing travelers to swim in the Piyain river for security reason.
