The government has decided to allocate Tk73,000 crore in the next five years for the development of Chittagong.
Executive President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Mainuddin Khan Badal MP has made the disclosure in a press conference at Chittagong Press Club on Saturday, reports BSS.
The JSD lawmaker pointed out that the projects include Tk48,000 crore for deep sea port at Sonadia, Tk12,000 crore for coal based power plant at Matarbari of Moheskhali island, Tk8000 crore for Karnaphuli Tunnel, Tk2000 crore for Dohazari-Ghundum Rail Line expansion and Tk1000 crore for Kalurghat-Boalkhali Bridge.
He further mentioned that the ruling government is also mulling over a plan to set up a special economic zone for the Japanese investors in Anwara upazila of the district.
