Local administration has buried the unidentified bodies of 12 people, who were killed in Munshiganj launch capsize.
Madaripur Additional Super Uttom Kumar Pal said: “The bodies were not in a condition to be identified, so they were buried after the Juma prayer.”
“All the required samples for DNA testing were collected,” he said.
Madaripur Deputy Commissioner JSM Jafarullah said: “The bodies were buried at Shibchar municipal graveyard after holding namaj-e-janaza at Paachar Government Primary School.”
A total of 26 bodies were recovered from the district. Out of which, Shibchar Upazila Land Assistant Officer Mominuddin have handed over some 14 bodies to the family members.
On Thursday, the death toll from Munshiganj launch capsize rose to 33.
Around 131 passengers were missing from Pinak 6 launch that capsized in the Padma River near Louhajang in Munshiganj on Monday with over 270 passengers on board, according to the district administration.
