At least 19 people were injured yesterday in a clash between AL and BNP activists at Kabakhali union in Dighinala upazila of the district.
The upazila Awame League organising secretary Md Delwar Hossain alleged that some BNP men attacked the AL activists with weapons leaving 19 injured.
On the other hand, BNP president Moslemuddin claimed the clash had taken place as the AL men assaulted a BNP leader without a cause.
OC Shahadat Hossain said that the BNP activists had attacked the AL activists without a cause.
Action would be taken against the accused, he said.
The injured were sent to Khagrachari Adhunik Hospital.
