Celebrating Kabori’s 50 years in cinema

Kabori Sarwar, a popular face in Bangla cinema started her acting career in 1964 with Subhash Dutta’s film “Shutorang,” and 50 years later, she is still one of the most favourite actresses of film enthusiasts. In honour of her golden jubilee in the film industry, a special television programme titled “Obhinetri Kaborir Ponchash Bochor” will be aired today on Channel i at 8pm.

The programme is anchored by none other than the beautiful Moushumi and has been planned/directed by Abdur Rahman. In conversation with the Dhaka Tribune, Abdur said: “Kabori’s career is an interesting one and we have tried to portray the various dimensions of her longevity in the film industry. She was the first heroine to star opposite the five prominent actors of her time which includes Zafar Iqbal, Ujjal, Faruque, Alamgir and Sohel Rana. Her chemistry with Razzak was appreciated by all and they have presented the audience with a number of hit films. A video clip of Razzak will be shown where the seasoned actor reminisces his golden days with Kabori. We have also included many scenes and songs from Kabori’s films.”
