Hajj flights begin August 27

The Hajj flights for carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on August 27. Religious Affairs Secretary Chowdhury Md Babul Hasan disclosed the date to the journalists after an inter-ministerial meeting held at the seminar room of the ministry regarding the preparation for Hajj. He said: “We have already finished all the preparations for Hajj. The first Hajj flight will start on August 27 and the flights will continue till September 28.” The return flights will start from October 9 and continue till November 7, he said. He also expressed hope that this year the Hajj process will be completed without any problem. Out of the total 98,762 pilgrims, 1600 will perform Hajj under the government management while the rest will go under private management. He said 835 agents will be involved in the facilitation process of the Hajj for the pilgrims. The secretary said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to inaugurate the Hajj camp on August 26. On Tuesday, the vaccination process for the pilgrims started at six centres in Dhaka and different districts.
