A fire broke out at a operation theater of the fourth floor of Royal Hospital, a private hospital at Nizam road of GEC intersection of the Chittagong city on Tuesday evening.
Deputy Assistant Director Jasimuddin of fire service and civil defence headquarter of Chittagong confirmed about the fire to the Dhaka Tribune.
“The fire broke out at a one operation theater, OT-3 at the fourth floor of Royal Hospital at 6pm while doctors were conducting an operation using electrical tools and it caused blaze for electrical overloading ," he said.
On information, three fire fighter units from Chittagong headquarter rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control at 6:20am.
Casualties and the estimate of economic and other losses could not be known immediately.
