Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Joypurhat

A Bangladeshi cattle trader has been shot death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members at Korea border area under Panchbibi upazila in Joypurhat early Tuesday.

The deceased is Raju Ahmed, 25, son of Shahidul Islam of Nandail village.

Joypurhat BGB 3 Captain Lieutenant Colonel Abdur Razzak Tarafdar said: “A group of smugglers entered into India territory to bring some cattle around 4am.”

“Raju died on the spot when Mathurapur 75 camp BSF members fired bullets at the group,” he said.

The BGB official said a letter has been sent to BSF members for a flag meeting.
