Consumers who have complaints about any product can now seek redress at a centre set up by the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, a government press release said yesterday.
The national consumer complaint centre was opened at TCB Bhaban at Karwan Bazar in the capital under the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009.
It will receive complaints from consumers from across the country and forward them to officials concerned through email, fax and other channels for disposal. The centre would also collect data of disposed complaints, review and coordinate the data, said the release.
A deputy director and two assistant directors under the director general will be in charge of the centre.
