Bangladeshi UN peacekeepers secure of Ebola virus

Bangladeshi peacekeepers along with all other peacekeepers are out of Ebola virus infection in West Africa.

An ISPR press release said this on Monday, reports BSS.

The report said Bangladesh Armed Forces is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant contact with all concerned, including UN Headquarters.

The UN has been undertaking proactive and preventive measures at all levels, the press release added.

Ebola was first detected in Guinea in February.

The virus has already killed 672 people in West African countries including Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.

Meanwhile, more than 1,200 have been infected with this virus.

Bangladesh has the highest number of peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping contingent.
