The International Crimes Tribunal 1 has issued a notice upon four including editor of daily Sangram for making comments on a subjudice matter about Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam war crimes trial.
The tribunal also ordered them to appear before it on August 20.
The other three who faced contempt notice are: Rangpur correspondent of the daily, former unit commander of Badarganj Thana Muktijoddha Sangsad, Ekramul Haque Dulu and former president of Chhatra League Rangpur district unit, Azizur Rahman Ranga.
A three-member panel of ICT 1 chaired by issued notice as the counsel of Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam tried to exhibit some photocopies of reports carried out by Jamaat mouthpiece Sangram.
The two reports were carried out by Sangram on December 27, 2013 and January 26, 2014 respectively. These were made on interviews of Dulu and Ranga, in which they talked pretty much openly in support of the accused.
