Two women have been killed as a bus ran over them on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Sunday morning.
The victims are identified as Lata Begum, 28 and her mother-in-law Saleha Khatun, 50, hailed from Naldanga village under Jajira upazila of Shariatpur.
The accident took place around 7am at Masterbari Square in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh, Bhaluka Model police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad said.
A Dhaka-bound speedy bus ran over the two women in Masterbari Square area, leaving them dead on the spot, the OC said quoting eyewitnesses.
Police are trying to identify the bus and its driver, he added.
