A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped at her residence in Shahajahanpur Railway Colony in the capital on Thursday.
Victim's mother alleged that her next-door neighbour Annash had entered her house while she was out for work and finding her 10-year-old daughter alone at home had raped her.
Annash, 42, father of three children, has been fugitive since the incident.
“After coming back from work around 4:30pm, I found my child injured and took her to the Shahajahanpur police station,” she said.
Sub-Inspector of Badda police station Sohel said he had admitted the girl to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after receiving her. A rape case had been filed in this connection, he said.
