Two people of a family have been killed and two others injured as a boat capsized in River Padma near BT college of Munshiganj on Thursday.
The deceased are Tania Akter (18), daughter of Latif Mia and Afsana Akter (14), daughter of Delowar Hossen from Nitaiganj of Narayanganj.
Quoting locals, Tongibari police station Assistant Sub Inspector Mosaraf Hossain said: “Six people of a family went on a boat trip in Padma River in the afternoon. But, the boat capsized and four people drowned. Only two of the family members managed to swim ashore.”
“Later, locals rescued the victims and admitted them at Tongbari Health Complex, where two were declared dead.”
