Miscreants cut down at least 300 papaya trees in Dighirpara fishery farm area under Uttar Baharchhara of Banshkhali upazila in Chittagong district on Saturday night.
The owner of the trees, Mahmudul Islam, lodged a General Dairy (GD) with Banshkhali police station in this connection, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdul Alim of Banshkhali police station.
He said the plaintiff complained that some local miscreants, led by a local Mannan, cut his 300 papaya trees at his farm on Saturday night over previous feud on land dispute.
Police will take legal measures after investigating the matter, the SI said.
